• CHECK BEFORE YOU ORDER: A quick compatibility check can save the frustration of discovering after delivery that CB4DT cannot be used or controlled in your car. Your factory stereo must already have wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto and support control through a touchscreen, touchpad, or compatible remote/controller. Video is for passengers or parked use where permitted by local law.
• STAY WIRELESS AND KEEP CB4 ONLINE: Why should turning on a hotspot interrupt your wireless phone link? Two dedicated Wi-Fi modules give each task its own connection: one supports wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, while the other connects CB4DT to your phone hotspot or in-car Wi-Fi for online apps. Internet access is required, but there is less network switching and more time to enjoy the drive.
• SMOOTHER WHEN YOU SWITCH MORE OFTEN: Move between supported apps, split screen, and passenger entertainment during the same trip? CB4DT is designed for smoother switching, more frequent multitasking, and longer entertainment sessions. It helps reduce repeated app reloads, so your family spends less time waiting and more time enjoying the trip.
• USEFUL APPS, CLEAR EXPECTATIONS: Waiting in the school pickup line, at an EV charger, or between appointments? Use our selected apps for online video, music, and passenger downtime. For trips with limited data, a USB drive up to 256GB (not included) can carry compatible offline music and videos. App availability can vary by region, service, subscription, and software version.
• CARPLAY OR ANDROID AUTO—USE EITHER: CB4DT works as a wireless adapter compatible with Apple CarPlay and also supports wireless Android Auto. Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone and CB4, make sure CB4 is not connected to another phone, select "CB4_xxxx," then open CarPlay or Android Auto on the CB4 screen. To switch modes, hold the CP/AA pinhole for 5 seconds: green means CarPlay; blue means Android Auto.
• TWO VIEWS, PRIVACY WHEN YOU LEAVE: Use two supported apps side by side for less back-and-forth during frequent multitasking. With Unlock with BT, authorize the phones you trust; the CB4 interface locks when no authorized phone is connected and can unlock when one returns. Anyone else needs the correct password, helping protect signed-in apps when the car is shared, serviced, or handed to a valet.
• MORE FROM THE SCREEN YOU ALREADY HAVE: Need a quick answer, vehicle data, or control of a compatible accessory? Press the stereo voice button to open DriveChat for questions and supported CB4 actions. Pair a compatible Bluetooth OBD reader to view data such as speed or RPM, or use CIotHub with selected Bluetooth accessories such as ambient lights. Accessories are sold separately; DriveChat does not control native vehicle functions.
• POWER IT RIGHT, DRIVE WITH FEWER INTERRUPTIONS: Does your stereo USB port cause unexpected restarts or connection drops? CB4DT needs at least 800mA. If factory USB power is weak or unstable, use the included Y-cable with an auxiliary USB source to help reduce interruptions.
